launched in 2014 as a collection project, the Innsbruck Subculture Archive provides the first insights into this other history of the city of Innsbruck. For a long time, so-called subculture was not considered worth documenting or collecting. However, subculture has always been and continues to be socially formative and pioneering for a constantly changing approach to young culture. In this exhibition, Innsbruck's alternative history was told on the basis of places and protagonists active there and dealt with in connection with the anti-cultural mood of the "Holy Land of Tyrol". Based on various music scenes, the exhibition invited visitors to take a journey through different places, scenes and musicians. Insights were given into a different Innsbruck and long-forgotten places such as the Kennedyhaus, the Komm, the Akt, the Haus am Haven and the Utopia, as well as still existing bastions of culture such as the Z6, the Workstation and the Treibhaus. The exhibition offered a journey into the past to the present of Innsbruck's subculture, which is also responsible for the city being the way it is today.
