Why does the City of Innsbruck actually collect art?
The City of Innsbruck has an extensive collection of works of art which, apart from the exhibits in the City Archive/City Museum Innsbruck, are spread across various offices and depots. The exhibition provides an overview of the collection for the first time.
The title "What remains" indicates the focal points and highlights, as well as the reasons for collecting. The following themes have been chosen to organise the exhibition: Picturesque Innsbruck, Innsbruck Minds, The Unexpected, From Egger-Lienz to Hinterhuber and Focus on Contemporary Art.
